Junaid embarked on his ambulance service journey in 2008, accumulating a wealth of experience over the past 15 years in various roles such as education, mentoring, event medical care, and advanced practice within different prehospital environments. Driven by a passion for clinical development and reducing health inequalities, Junaid created BHECCS.

We support the NHS by providing specialist life-saving care, usually only available in hospital, to the most seriously injured or unwell patients and offering support to their families.

Most of our team generously volunteer their time to provide this care during their days off from their full-time jobs.

We are also committed to educating local ambulance colleagues and hospital doctors and staff, fostering collaboration and sharing knowledge to develop our local clinicians.\"

Adam is an experienced paramedic and has nearly 7 years of experience of prehospital experience with EEAST having completed their in-house student paramedic training program in 2021. He was the clinical supervisor for Watford station and is an ALS and EPALs provider. He has recently begun working as a trainee ECP at Northwick Park hospital and is working towards becoming an independent prescriber.

Adam sits on the committee of the PHEM Feedback project and provides events, comms and media support to BHECCS

Dan graduated from University College London Medical School in 2014. After completing core training in Anaesthesia, he chose to specialise in Intensive Care Medicine and has developed subspecialty interests in advanced critical care echocardiography and Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine.

Dan started his career in pre-hospital care by undertaking a HEMS fellowship with Magpas Air Ambulance before becoming a retained doctor with the service. He holds the Diploma of Immediate Medical Care as well as being an experienced ALS instructor.

In August 2024 Dan is taking up a national PHEM training post in the East of England where he will be training with both the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance and Magpas Air Ambulance.

Ambroise works as a Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine, and as a Medical Examiner, at St George’s Hospital in Tooting. He is Deputy Clinical Director of the Access London Adult Critical Care Transfer Service.

After graduation he undertook initial training in Emergency Medicine and Anaesthetics before specialising in Intensive Care. He spent his special skills year in Critical Care Echocardiography. Dr Muchembled has a longstanding interest in multi-professional clinical education, having undertaken simulation education fellowships at St George’s GAPS Centre and Kingston Hospital. He instructs on a number of resuscitation and trauma courses and is a medical director for Advanced Life Support courses. He also supports Paramedic Critical Care MSc students during their placements at St George\'s.

He has worked on the development and delivery of training in interfacility transfer and advanced resuscitation. He has interests in human and team performance in these settings, and with the influence of stress and degraded environments. Ambroise has substantial experience in out-of-hospital medical care, especially in crowds and at mass gatherings. He retains particular interests in the organisation of NHS ambulance services and the provision of medical care in less permissive environments, having worked for more than a decade in a specialist crowd medicine response team.

Growing up in St Albans, Abhishek graduated in Biomedical Science from Queen Mary, University of London in 2015, followed by Medicine from the University of Sheffield in 2021. He completed his foundation training at Lister Hospital, Stevenage, and is starting Emergency Medicine training from August 2024.

Having completed a 4-week observer elective with Essex and Herts Air Ambulance this summer, he is now undertaking a MSc in Prehospital Medicine at Barts and the London.

Outside of work, he enjoys playing cricket, having spent a year playing as an overseas in Perth, Australia in 2015, as well as still representing teams such as the Middlesex and Kent CCC 2nd XIs. Currently, he still represent the MCC and Hertfordshire CCC 1st XI at the Minor County level.

Sinead is an Advanced paramedic in critical with East of England ambulance service as well as a flight paramedic with the region. As a senior clinical lead within in East of England ambulance service with an extension training background, Sinead adds a wealth of educational and training experience within NHS organisations to the team, as well as her clinical experience.

Ollie has over 20 years’ experience working for the ambulance service in a variety of roles. For the past 10years his focus has been on pre-hospital critical care, working as part of a HEMS team and as a critical care paramedic whilst gaining a Master’s degree in Trauma Science and a PgCert in Advanced Clinical Practice. Ollie wishes to utilise his experience and knowledge for the communities of Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire, through the work of BHECCS to improve patient care.

Currently Ollie works full time as a Pre-hospital Advanced Clinical Practitioner in critical care. In his spare time, he is an enthusiastic runner and rower but mostly enjoys eating and drinking with friends and family.

Joe works full time as an advanced Paramedic Practitioner in Critical Care for the London ambulance service and is currently undertaking his master’s degree in advanced clinical practice. This builds upon experience gained in multiple different roles within the ambulance service over the last 14 years including; team management positions and recently a 2-year Secondment with the advanced trauma team at London’s Air Ambulance. Joe joined the BHECCS charity in 2023 as he lives in Hertfordshire and enjoys supporting prehospital critical care within the community he lives.

Outside work Joe enjoys martial arts training and is a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Richard is the lead ACP(CC) for BHECCS and has twenty years’ experience in pre-hospital care and ten years’ experience in Critical care. Richard is one of our most experienced Paramedics and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team. Richard holds an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice and have experience work in a variety of settings. As an experienced educator, and hostile environment Paramedic Richards unique skills set means he is able to provide the highest quality of care to our patients in even the most challenging of circumstances

Chris has over 23 years of experience working for the Ambulance service and 15 of these undertaking roles responding as a CCP, Trauma Lead and Clinical Lead for Critical Care, Chris brings lots of experience and dedication to his work for BHECCS that continue to benefit the patients throughout Beds and Herts. Chris works full-time in the Clinical and Quality directorate for EEAST currently heading up the Quality Improvement and Professional Standards team. Outside of work Chris is a father of 3 boys and likes to keep fit and is a keen runner taking on marathons and ultra marathons and is a qualified FA referee.

Barry has been a Paramedic for over 12 years and has worked in wide variety of roles, including front line, research, management and Emergency Operations Centres. He currently works as an Advanced Paramedic Practitioner –Critical Care for London Ambulance Service NHS Trust and as a Senior Lecturer in Paramedic Science at the University of Hertfordshire. He has been with BHECCS since Autumn 2021 and is part of the medical directorate.

Barry regularly undertakes shifts with all members across the scheme and supports the development of the level 1 and level 2 Paramedics. Outside of work Barry is a keen sportsman, is a regular gym attender and plays hockey for Berkhamsted Hockey club. He is married with 2 young boys. If he is out on shift, he is always on the hunt for a good coffee!

After training in South, North and East London, Miles is currently working as a Consultant in Emergency Medicine St Mary\'s Hospital in West London. Prior to his most recent appoint, Dr Gandolfi completed Pre-Hospital sub-specialty training, working with London’s Air Ambulance and the Scottish EMRS.

Miles as spent some time working all over the world aboard cruise ships. Now, with his feet on dry land, he spends his time with his wife and young family and enjoy fencing and cycling in my occasional free time.

Dr Shamsuddin is a consultant anaesthetist and pre-hospital physician and is the regional transfer lead for adult critical care. He has strategic and operational management experience in ambulance and event medicine.

Spent a year with Sydney HEMS, and several years working with TVAA. Currently Medical Incident Advisor for SCAS and Medical Director for Jigsaw Ambulance Service.
Dr Shamsuddin is currently the Medical Director for BHECCS and leads on the development of our clinical strategy.

Aaron joined the ambulance service in 2013, driven by his passion for volunteering. He began as a community first responder and soon transitioned to a full-time role as an emergency medical dispatcher and call taker. Throughout his career, Aaron has advanced through both senior clinical and managerial positions, and he now works full-time as a specialist paramedic.

Currently, Aaron is in the final year of completing his MSc in Advanced Paramedic Practice (Emergency and Critical Care). He holds an independent prescribing qualification and has completed his Pre-hospital Emergency Medicine Crew Course. Aaron has been a dedicated volunteer with BHECCS since the charity\'s inception. He regularly volunteers his time to respond to patients on behalf of BHECCS and assists with various other aspects of the charity.

At home, Aaron has two young children, William and Teddy, who are also enthusiastic supporters of the BHECCS charity, especially the BHECCS car!

Originally from Dorset, Luke qualified as a paramedic in 2017 and has experience working across education and clinical leadership. As a founding member of BHECCS, Luke volunteers as a level 1 Paramedic and supports with training and multi-agency engagement.

Outside of work and volunteering, Luke enjoys snowboarding, open water swimming and at 6”6, is constantly banging his head on doorways.

Ganesh graduated from University of Birmingham Medical School. After completing his foundation training, Ganesh has worked in Intensive care and Simulation education, before commencing his Anaesthetic training in the East of England. His clinical areas interest include Pre-hospital Emergency Medicine, Burns, Simulation and Human Factors. Ganesh has dedicated time to supporting BHECCS both clinically and non-clinically, through is role in supporting the scheme with Clinical Governance and Education.

Away from the Hospital and BHECCS Ganesh sits on the trustee board of Medics4Ukraine, a charity that focuses on delivering medical aid and combat casualty care training to frontline soldiers in Ukraine.

Away from work, Ganesh fills his time hiking and climbing with, having recently undertaken the Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for BHECCs

Asher is an NHS anaesthetic and critical care transfer consultant working at Luton hospital near London and as a substantive consultant with the adult critical care transfer service for the East of England region (in partnership with Addenbrookes hospital near Cambridge). He has always had a strong interest in resuscitation, trauma and prehospital care work which has led him to complete several prehospital care training programmes and courses during his training and in doing so has also flown for various HEMS services in the UK over the last 6 years. Asher has been a BASICS volunteer doctor working within the NHS ambulance service for over 9 years now and is now also joint co-deputy medical director for BHECCS.

Occasionally Asher even finds some time to spend with his wife and 2 little girls at home as well!

Cosmo was born and grew up in London. He has previous experience working in event medicine, in Childrens\' Intensive care retrieval, and with Air Ambulance services across the UK.

He is a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Major Trauma, working for both for London’s Air Ambulance Charity as well as Imperial Healthcare NHS Trust. Cosmo became deputy medical director for BHECCS in 2022 supporting our clinical governance and development.

Outside of work Cosmo spends time learning Norwegian from his wife and daughter, and a lot of time trying to master cross country skiing when over in the wilds of Norway.

Steve has been a paramedic for over 9 years and have been working frontline with the London Ambulance Service since 2009. In his day job he works on a FRU (Fast Response Unit) in North West London, acting as the first response to any critically ill patients in the area. Alongside that job he mentors students and act as the FRU Coordinator for his station, providing peer level leadership to his team of solo responders. he also chairs the FRU Coordinator group, working at Trust Level to improve and manage changes to the solo ambulance response in London.

When not at work he lives in South-west Bedfordshire with my wife, two young children, two dogs, two cats, many fish tanks and a gecko.

Sam is a registered paramedic working with London Ambulance Service since 2015. Her main role is working on the Fast Response Unit (FRU) within North West London which means she often attend the most ill patients in the area. Besides this, She is also a volunteer with St John Ambulance where she is a clinical lead for Cambridgeshire, and Is also an Associate Lecturer with the University of Anglia Ruskin.

She is currently undertaking a master’s degree in critical care that will be able to assist her to manage these types of patients more effectively. She brings her experience and knowledge to the team to help assist critically injured patient around the area.

Outside of work, she plays hockey for Luton and Is a proud mum of her Labrador Lilly.
